On a wander around the beauties of Slovakia

Enough has already been said about Slovakia. But in this case, the well-known cliché that it is better to see once than to hear a hundred times is doubly true.

Before starting the daily planning in the diary, don't forget to rest. And we want to recommend you the active one as well. It will cost you something, but the result will be worth it.

In addition to the well-known High Tatras and Slovak Paradise, our country offers a number of unique more or less well-known places that are definitely worth seeing.

Did you know that in Slovakia we have, for example:

- the highest wooden Gothic altar in the world (Church of St. James in Levoča)
- the only functional headland forest railway in Europe (Museum of the Kysu village in Vychylovka)
- one of the two aragonite caves in Europe (Ochtín aragonite cave)
- astronomical clock with "true solar time" (Star clock in Stara Bystrica)
- one of the largest wooden churches in Europe (Church of the Holy Cross)
- over 200 castles and 400 mansions
- one of the highest cave drops in the world (Krásnohorská jaskyňa)
- houses cut into the rock (Brhlovce)
- ...and many, indeed many other (un)explored nooks and crannies

Of course, that is far from all. You can certainly be inspired by the map of "Black Holes" , which hide many architectural gems in Slovakia.

Whether you are a lover of nature, architecture or history, there are dozens of unique places right under your nose.

Recently, our Zambo became convinced of this as well, as he went on his honeymoon with his wife to discover the hidden beauties of our country. You can also be inspired by his journey, which he documented .

So where will the wind take you next?

PS: Do you want to start with nature and mountains? Get inspired by the places we immortalized on our Poustra .
